Year 6 Leavers Assembly - Prison Break

(1)
This assembly script is designed for Y6 leavers - focusing on being locked in ‘primary jail’ for various crimes and needed to perform tasks to escape to secondary school. Each child has committed a crime (e.g. crimes against handwriting/dad dancing etc). one child from each task escapes until they join a group at the end, who perform a dance - therefore when adapting to suit your class, you may need to change the crimes or order of children. It could be adapted to suit any transition year. Our class thoroughly enjoyed this play.

Year 6 Leavers' Production - Once Upon a Time

(0)
A Year 6 leavers' production based on famous children's books. The play starts with a child reading Wimpy Kid on their last day of Year 6. Each book then comes to life with characters from the story acting out relevant scenes to the the children's time at school. The characters cleverly weave together throughout the play (in the style similar to Charlie Cook's Favourite Book) and then at the end there is a link to the children's Leavers' Book which allows for memories. Books included are Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Matilda, We're Going on a Bear Hunt, Demon Headmaster, Roald Dahl's Little Red Riding Hood and Funny Bones. Lots of opportunities for singing and dancing and humour.

Year 6 Leavers Assembly 'The Apprentice'

This is the script and resources for a Y6 assembly based on the TV programme 'The Apprentice'. It includes the script and suggested words for 2 songs. The script has some 'in house jokes' that can be easily adapted. It includes several tasks which should be completed before the assembly, with photos or videos shown as evidence e.g. cooking cakes for profit and producing a school prospectus. The children in my class loved performing this assembly.

YEAR 6 LEAVERS' PRODUCTION - ROCKIN' ROBIN

(0)
During the last ten years, I have written eight of the Year 6 Leavers’ Productions in our junior school… ROCKIN’ ROBIN is probably the most popular amongst all ages - the young and the not-so-young. All the productions I write are comedies. Year 6 must love putting them on, and every audience of all ages must be laughing out loud at least every two minutes. YOU not only get the script, but you get EVERYTHING you need to put on the show. For example, in the script, every time you need the backing, song, or sound effect, you click the link that takes you straight to youtube and there it is. You are also guided how to trim any of these - free, offline, and in seconds. You also have: Production Notes - Sound Track - Props - Cast description and list - Action Scene by Scene - Song Book. You also have permission, from me, to make any amendments and changes that suit you. This version of ‘Robin Hood’ allows you to add any number of characters. We have performed Rockin’ Robin twice with between 70 and 80 players taking part. I’m pricing Rockin’ Robin at £5. For this you get everything you need in a production that has proved great to stage, present, and give the audiences of all ages a mega fun time. In the next few weeks, I will be adding my other productions, so keep an eye on my shop … where you’ll also find lots and lots of stuff that might interest you. And a lot of it is free. All the best to you and yours for a successful 2023 and beyond. J-PC

Year 6 Leavers' Assembly - "Locked in the school!"

This is a Year 6 Leavers’ Assembly that revolves around the Y6 pupils accidentally getting locked in the school after their Y6 teachers sneak off for biscuits during assembly rehearsal. The script features in-jokes and references to our school but could be adapted to suit other settings. It focuses on showcasing extracurricular activities such as sports, drama and choir. It also includes a section at the staff summer party, which gives pupils the opportunity to dress up as teachers and make fun of them a bit!

Leavers' Assembly for Year 6s

(0)
Leavers' Assembly for Year 6s This end of year assembly, for Year 6s, is a light-hearted romp through what they have learnt - with reference to The Big Three (Core Subjects) and not forgetting the Nine Foundation Subjects! The focus is on history (Romans through to the present day) but there are plenty of cross-curricular links along with 'mandatory' reference to Literacy and Numeracy Strategies (which ones?!) and other equally 'important' matters - such as what the dinner ladies are serving up! Cast: Written for a year group of around 90, 3 classes - speaking parts for all, but easily adaptable to smaller year group or fewer classes. Duration: The reading time is relatively short (around 10/15 minutes) so favourite poems or extracts from favourite stories could be added - for children to read or recite. Likewise with favourite Art and D.T. projects (evidence for which may still be at home!). Sample Text Shakespeare: What ho? Methinks this principal should learn a few principle facts himself! Like (embracing himself) "Some are born great, some achieve greatness" .... (pauses, pointing towards Principal) but alas "Some have greatness thrust upon them"! Principal: (Striding towards Shakespeare) Now look here, Bill! I'm the one running this show, today. You and your plays can go ... Music 5 Food Glorious Food - Oliver (Loud outburst of "Food Glorious Food" sung by Oliver and boys. Shakespeare and Drake exit, holding their ears) Principal: And who might this scruffy looking lot be? They wouldn't get into my school looking like that! Oliver: (With bowl held out to Principal) More! Please sir, can I have some more? Principal: (Yelling) More?! (Principal looks inside bowl, sniffs and pulls back in disgust) Principal: Ugh! I don't remember this being on the cafeteria menu this morning? (Line of dinner ladies file on, each holding a different dish, and offering food to Oliver, who samples each in turn) Production Directions This assembly was written for a year group consisting of 3 classes (around 30 for each). Thus, there are 3 groups: Like, Dislike and Not Sure (reflecting feelings about school); these then change into the 3 core subjects; and finally the 9 foundation subjects are added. This arrangement can be changed - dividing one class into three or two classes into three. Because of the primary focus being on history, this subject has the greatest number of speakers (52) - the other subjects just having a handful.
