Year 5/6 Inference Exercise and 3 Mark Question Workout.

(1)
Four short passages where children must use inference with regards to the text in order to answer 3 mark questions. This is good practice for providing evidence from the text itself and explaining reasoning. These exercises can be carried out in a whole class guided reading environment, small groups or individually. Might be a good idea to one text as a class and discuss how to answer the questions. Give another as a paired exercise and the final two as individual work. A teacher notes/answers sheet is provided as a separate file for ease of marking.

**Time saving codes for marking ** French, Spanish, Italian… Stick the A4 sheet into learners’ exercise books at the front or back. As you are marking, any common corrections and so on that they should complete have codes. You just need to write the code on the work. Learners then write out the relevant target(s) on their marked work - and complete them, of course… The language is described as the “Target Language” so that the sheet is appropriate for many languages.

Pearson Edexcel GCSE MFL Speaking Mark Sheet

The sheet has been created to help support teachers while conducting speaking mocks for the Edexcel Pearson speaking exam (Spec. 2016). The official mark schemes can sometimes be overwhelming during mocks when teachers have to ensure students are prepared, they are asking the correct questions, keeping an eye on time and having to listen and mark on the spot. To help with this demanding task, the basic information has been fitted to an A4 sized table. Foundation and higher mark sheets included. For the role-play, there is space to tally how many points you give (2 points per question) The picture-based activity and general converastion mark bands have been simplified to the basic information. While conducting the assessment, add a tick in which band you think is appropriate. When you finally upload data, simply, refer back to Pearson Edexcel’s mark scheme to award a number based. Our team saved a lot of time marking mocks this way and we managed to fit in over 80 students with 4 teachers conducting in one day.

These videos provide disciplined grammar practise for students with an emphasis on active learning and application of grammar rules. They were designed as a differentiated homework activity to consolidate grammar lessons or to prepare students for a lesson where knowledge of specific grammar is required. Initial lessons start from the very basics and then explanations are stripped out as prior knowledge is assumed. Activities are self-explanatory and students pause the video, complete the exercises and then self-mark them ensuring they correct any mistakes to improve their understanding.
