A simple but effective game which revises different topics in maths.
Pupils play in teams. They choose an area (eg ratio) from the game board. The PowerPoint will throw up a question about the chosen area and reveal the answer when clicked.
This activity can easily last a whole one hour lesson. Pupils enjoy the competitive element. It can be used as a ‘fun’ way to revise maths in preparation for the KS2 SATs.
Categories in the game: calculation, reading scales, algebra, perimeter, area, angle, fractions, decimals, percentages, data handling (pie charts, line graphs), measure, co-ordinates etc.
There are four topics covered here: Fractions, Decimals, Percentages and Algebra.
There is a plan, powerpoint presentations and resources all geared towards helping students revise these often tricky topics.
Each one can be used as a standalone lesson, used over a few lessons, or adapted as needed.
I found these very helpful, so if there are any problems, please let me know.
SATs style revision grids. Each grid contains 8 SATs style questions covering content from the Year 6 curriculum.
Use the grids as starters or homework- they are a great way to identify any areas that need working on.
A pack of 5 revision worksheets - Each one containing 46 different past paper SATs style questions, all fitted onto one double sided A4 sheet
Great for keeping photocopying down whilst practising loads of past questions! There is a record sheet (including key skills) for each pupil to record their score after each attempt and try to beat it the next time! Each worksheet has similar questions & key skills but with new numbers each time in order for pupils to build confidence, fluency, and consolidate their learning.
Answers for all questions are provided (as pdf and ppt) - each on a single page which can be projected onto IWB in one go or printed out on a single sheet to allow for self/peer marking.
Could be done in class with support or at home for revision - Ideal for some intensive last minute SATs preparation. (PDF files)
This resource is now also available as part of the 2019 SATs Ultimate organiser at https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/2019-ks2-sats-revision-ultimate-15-in-1-maths-organiser-11989842

This two worksheet free taster of the full set of 40 worksheets contains questions to aid your year 6 pupils in their SATs revision.
The questions are suitable for whole class usage as they span the entire KS2 curriculum.
Opportunities for reasoning and literacy are on each sheet.
The grid layout helps pupils to learn to move to a different question when they are struggling and that working in numerical order isn’t always the most natural thing; when faced with all the questions at once they can treat it as a pick n mix sheet, opting to answer the questions in the order they choose.
Suitable to be used as a weekly homework across the year where you can measure progress in the build up to SATs with a reduced need to complete practice tests or as part of independent revision work in class as SATs week gets closer.
Can also be used for slow grasping/ lower ability year 7 & 8 pupils.
Maths Revision Foldable Pack
Foldables can be used as a revision or summary exercise at the end of a topic. As the answers are hidden pupils can use these to ‘test’ themselves or ask someone else such as a parent to test them.
This bundle includes 15 revision foldables and I do add to it so its worth checking back.
All our resources come complete with instructions, solutions where appropriate and ideas to stretch and support pupils.
