Starting with formal time that basically needs knowledge of numbers (the grid with lots of times can be used for a variety of tasks), followed by informal time with the 'half past&' challenge and also the 25min past and to challenge. My year 7 enjoyed it very much.

Graphs Tell Stories

This video shows how graphs can be used to tell stories! The graph in the video is about two 100m runners who run the final race. Their Distance - Time graphs are told as a moving and exciting story. The PPT is the graph I used in the story and I have included the script, so you can do it with your classes. This could be an interesting cross-curricula activities and you could pair up with the English department get learners to write creative stories from various graphs.

Telling the Time - Quarter past

(2)
This is a program for the interactive white board. It aims to teach children how to tell the time - more specifically, it deals with quarter past. It follows on from similar programs about O’clock and half past. Although this software has been designed for children with special needs, its simple display, and clear graphics also make it suitable for a primary mainstream class.
