This telling the time puzzle is a fun way to test students ability to tell the time. Students match the image of an analogue clock, the time in words, digital and 24-hour time. Included are variations of the follwing times: o’clock, half past, quarter past and to, 10 minute intervals and minute intervals. It is designed to be easily cut with little wastage. So either the teacher or tutor can prepare the cards by cutting them before hand, or students can cut their own cards, giving them a chance to see the solutions before they attempt the puzzle. Times Tables Precision Teaching Booklet

(0)
Need a quick and easy intervention to support student to learn tables - This booklet is designed to support a student to develop recall of tables through a focused daily minute of recall. The booklet has a pre and post assessment as well as record space to track daily progress. Some students need to use a structured approach to get number facts into their long-term memory – they do not seem to keep them there just by regular use in maths lessons. This booklet can be used to support this process. On each page is a grid with items to prompt the student to say a tables fact. Each day they should count how many oral responses they can give in a minute – and record that on the sheet. The aim is to be able to recall a few more each day. The precision teaching approach works best if the student can do an activity using the content of the page they are currently working on for a few minutes ( 5 to 10) before they do the one-minute timed activity. There are lots of interactive maths sites online e.g. Topmarks: teaching resources, interactive resources, worksheets, homework, exam and revision help – and this is a great way to give student this opportunity in a way that they can do independently. At the end of the booklet is a tables square for reference and some ideas for extension activities.

Flight Times and Time Zones Challenge

(2)
A fantastic Maths Challenge! ANSWERS provided! Learning Intention: To investigate time zones and to calculate flight times. Activity: Students have to calculate the arrival time (UK and local time at destination) for each flight. For the highest achieving students, they have to use the 2 websites provided to calculate flight times and time zone differences as well as generating their own flights! Almost every parent commented on how exciting and challenging this homework challenge was and the students loved it! PDF and Word formats available so fully editable. Please note: Depending on the time of year, the flight times on the activity sheets may vary by 1 HOUR. This is because of daylight saving times (when the UK clocks move forwards/backwards by 1 hour ). You don’t need to worry about this, just use the times written on the activity.

This book gives an excellent introduction to Onset and Rime work. It includes cut and stick activities and incorporates nursery rhymes which appeal to younger children. It has a useful introduction section which bridges the gap between oral/aural and written rhyming work. This book is very helpful for those children who are not succeeding with a purely synthetic phonics approach. Includes sheets to make word-building cards or booklets. Quelle heure est-il?. Comprehensive writing activities for an FSL unit on Telling the Time in French (L’heure) / Clocks in French (Les Horloges). Over 100 pages of worksheets and puzzles on 12 AND 24 hour time (l’heure informelle et l’heure officielle), using analogue and digital clocks, in quarter hour and 5 minute intervals. 12 and 24 hour times are on separate pages so you can focus on one or the other or both. Also includes questions and sentences, linked to sporting activities, opening hours and aspects of daily routine. Support pages and full answer keys included. Great also to link maths measurement learning with French. My French basics resources are made for students beginning French and near beginners in KS2 or early KS3 (Years 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8) and equivalents but they may suit others, depending on experience. Please check the previews to assess suitability. PDF format. 107 pages. You can purchase this pack as part of a Telling the Time in French BUNDLE, which also includes a pack of printable games and activities and a presentation and flashcards pack. INCLUDED IN THIS RESOURCE: Whether you are focusing on the 12 or 24-hour clock – or both – there’s plenty to choose from here. Just select the resources you want. The 12 hour versions of each resource can be found first. In almost all cases, these are then followed by 24 hour versions (except for the maze). The “12h” or “24h” in the top right corner will help you identify them. The worksheets and puzzles are at various levels of difficulty, all of them differentiated, to provide plenty of variety and challenge for you to select the most appropriate for the range of ages and abilities that you teach. SUPPORT PAGES: Word mats to display or print for students who require it, for 12 and 24-hour time, and in black and white too. Please note that these support pages are also contained in my printable games packet for this topic. WORKSHEETS: 10 worksheets (with answer keys), all in both 12 AND 24-hour versions, and all differentiated at least two ways using a star system. The 1-star version is the least challenging, for lower ability, younger or less experienced students and almost all of these focus on quarter hour intervals. Many of the 2-star worksheets are in five minute intervals. For Worksheet 4, the 1-star version is in five minute intervals and the 2-star is to the nearest minute, to provide variety and extra challenge. The two “À quelle heure…?” worksheets (Les Activités / Le Transport) are differentiated 3 ways. PUZZLES: There’s an airport puzzle, hidden word puzzle and maze. The airport puzzle is differentiated; the other two are not. The maze also does not have a 24h version.   EXPLORE MORE… French KS2 / KS3 MEGA BUNDLE 1

Fun mixed times table facts practice with 5 fun maths maze puzzle activities, ideal for Key Stage 2 (KS2). You could use them as early finisher challenges, warms ups, or homework tasks. No prep printable puzzles in PDF or make them digital with Easel. Includes answer keys. CONTENTS: 3 more challenging mazes for mixed times tables practice (up to 12 times table) 2 less challenging mazes for mixed times tables practice (up to 10 times table) Full answer keys Please see the previews to check these will suit your students. No prep required: Just print! Students use the answers to make a path through the maze. The correct pathway does not pass through all boxes. Use again: You might want to laminate to use again and again, with students using a dry-wipe marker instead of a pencil or highlighter etc. They can easily erase if they go wrong. Differentiation: There are mazes at two levels of challenge to suit different ages and abilities. Mazes work well for individuals, pairs or small groups. You might want to enlarge mazes for use by larger groups. The less challenging mazes go up to the 10 times table, while the more challenging mazes go up to the 12 times table. The less challenging mazes also have fewer paths. Answer keys: You could print an answer key so you can quickly find students who have gone wrong and nudge them back on course! The mazes also promote self-correction as students retrace their steps to see where they have strayed from the correct path! You could display the answer key on the whiteboard at the end for self-checking.
