All About Me Back to School 'Art Phone' creative lesson

(1)
Engage children creatively with this Instagram style, 'tech' mobile phone/tablet 'All About Me' first week back, art and writing activity. Children can learn more about themselves and their peers and teachers can get to know more about their new classroom individuals in an imaginative way. This activity invites students to cut out and make their own fold out booklet style art-phone, and then to complete the image making on the front cover and the written elements inside. The front cover: Illustrate the 9 answers to prompts with thumbnail doodles or drawings, eg age, family, favourite movie, animal etc The 2 fold out inner pages: 1. 'Let's Chat', designed in a text message style, asks more investigative questions including, How will you achieve your goals? What support do you need? 2. 'More About Me': Includes, name your 3 goals, 5 fascinating facts Open ended questions to complete, such as 'I imagine...' 'People like me because...' Considerations, how to use this activity: How can students move beyond words, and 'draw their answers' Consider the space around the images you draw How do the 9 images look collectively? Is there an emerging theme or style or colour? What colours do we associate with words? eg carrot: orange and green Work imaginatively! The included example uses a black ball point pen and felt tips The completed art-phones slip comfortably into a back pocket. They will work well pegged up as a garland or can decorate a wall, door or bulletin board. All artwork is designed by me, and is vector based, so can be enlarged without pixelating. Ideal for use as an icebreaker activity or as an art specific lesson. All original artwork ©The ImaginationBox/Diane Pagan 2016

KS2 Stone Age Art and DT 6 Lesson COMPLETE Cross-Curricula Unit. Highly Creative, Original and Fun.

(5)
This 6 lesson unit comes with an editable MTP plus 6 separate lesson packs. We have endeavoured to use: new, unconventional, creative and modern ideas that will really engage children, but also use familiar materials for teachers that are common to all schools or easy to obtain. Children will build, discuss, design, plan, create and evaluate throughout, as they construct 3D models including a flint axe, a mask and a Stone Age cave. 2D art includes an impressive Skara Brae scene and a lesson full of experimentation involving studying animal fur. Every lesson has some cross-curricula elements including: reading comprehension, writing, and of course history plus they all come with a custom reflective self-evaluation sheet, all designed to perfectly compliment the new 2014 curriculum. This whole unit is easy to teach, rewarding and will provide many items that children will treasure for a long time. Adaptable for KS1. Year 9 Mini GCSE Projects in preparation for GCSE Art in Year 10

(1)
The files uploaded here are small projects ideal for year 9's in the last term/half term that have chosen GCSE Art and Design. In each title there are approximately six tasks that are designed to be completed on separate A3 sheets. Some tasks are 3D. On one side of the sheet is visuals of the artists linked to the title. Students can either read the tasks or look at the visual to determine which title they would like to explore. This resource can work alongside the GCSE Page by Page support sheet that uploaded as a separate resource for year 10/11. Within this resource there is also a project log which helps students as they develop their ideas. The feedback log within the project log is for the student and the teacher to make comments and add guidance to support students. The criteria is linked to the draft AQA specification and will work well with year 9's to get them into the mindset of GCSE. I hope you find this as useful as I do. My students really enjoy the freedom.
