They also have colour coded three-level challenges throughout, so students can choose different levels of challenge in every activity and you can easily measure progress throughout the lesson. These resources have been highly-rated individually by TES users, follow the same consistent format and are easy to pick up and use. They are all planned according the PSHE Association’s most recently issued advice for 2019/20 and in preparation for the new statutory RSE guidance from the DfE. A PowerPoint which introduces the seven care values listed in the BTEC Tech Award, Component 2 Learning Aim B, linking this to the role play assessment later on. It has a detailed look at what empowerment is, how this can be achieved and why as well as the importance of recognising individuality and independence. A 2nd PowerPoint detailing the care values; Maintaining confidentiality- how and why, Safeguarding - how and why and finally Anti-discriminatory Practices how and why. There are discussion points and activities included with animation to keep students engaged. The 3rd PowerPoint covering the last 3 CV's is about communication skills and barriers, what is dignity and how to preserve dignity as well as respect and how this can be maintained in practice. There are few embedded videos to break up the PP and slides which require student participation and contributions There are activities for student to 'apply' the care values in relation to their individual role plays and a worksheet to help with guiding the review process, which you could use as a writing frame Finally, there is a PowerPoint that outlines the assessment criteria for the practical observed assessment part of Section B and how you evaluate after this. A template for cue cards can be printed on card, back-to-back for students to complete in preparation for the exam they will sit for Component 3. The knowledge learned in Component 1 and 2 can be tested in the Component 3 exam. There is guidance for the two role plays and information for students about how they will be assessed and a witness statement which can be adapted and altered to suit your teaching. Included is a basic wall display for the care values too. I hope you find this useful :-) Also included is a 1 hour exam, worth 40 marks, for students to sit in the style of the Component 3 exam.
