Baseline assessment for Art

(9)
I've revised and updated my baseline test to include measuring across the four main attainment areas of Making Skills, Ideas, Knowledge and Evaluation. My test takes only one lesson to complete plus one homework task and marking is done in the lesson itself. I've used this test for years and I know it works well. I was a member of the NSEAD Curriculum Writing Group that wrote the curriculum competencies, more formally called the: 'Framework for Progression, Planning for Learning, Assessment, Recording and Reporting 2014.’ For more fantastic art resources visit my TES store https://www.tes.com/teaching-resources/shop/paulcarney700

This word document contains 4 pages worth of questions about criminology. Students can complete this at the start of the course in Year 12 so teachers can see their knowledge. The questions are based on the content of the course as well as some general criminal questions such as what is the age of responsibility in the UK. This can help to form a good understanding of what the students prior understanding is before starting the course.

Assessment Baseline Testing in PE and sport

The resource can be used by PE staff in KS2, KS3 and KS4. The resource identifies the key components of fitness that pupils should be measured and assessed on at the beginning and throughout the school year. A full explanation of the aims, method and an example scoresheet is given to help you construct your own tests that you can use to assess your pupils. I have used this method successfully for a number of years and using the tests not only promote exciting competition between pupils but give teachers a great insight into the areas that pupils are thriving in and what they need to improve on. You will definitely find this resource extremely useful and will use it regularly as a source of gathering assessment data quickly and effectively.

Year 12 Chemistry Baseline Test - Transition From Year 11

This is a 30 question chemistry baseline test for year 12's. It can either be used as a summer homework for year 11's going into year 12 or it can be used for new year 12's as a baseline assessment. All of the questions have answers in the attached mark scheme and they are all questions which have been taken from the year 11 and 12 specification, but should be accessible for the year 11's. The test will provide a good indicator on where your students are and which students need to do some work to get to the required level. It could also be used as a revision for year 12/13.

We started our AS course this year and none of our pupils had been able to take GCSE History as an option. I created this baseline assessment just to see how they would deal with source material. It should be quite quick as it was designed for a first lesson back.
