Assembly script based on a trip to space introducing the sun and the planets to the rest of the school. The script teaches some facts on each planet and their order from the sun. It has 15 speaking parts but is easily adjustable to share out the lines and add more. It contains one song, lyrics, links to lots of sound effects and a list of costume suggestions. Class assembly/play script including song lyrics and links to songs/dance on youtube. The script has a literacy link of fairytales, IPC theme of castles and introduces the idea of inner beauty for PSHE. It is a comedy version of Sleeping Beauty, appropriate for year 2 to year 6. My friend borrowed this for her y6 leavers assembly and they loved it!

This is a fun Vikings assembly from year 2 to 6. It has 2 songs with youtube links and one link to a Viking thunder clap which is very simple and my kids loved learning. It covers Viking weapons, clothing and Gods. I also put some costume suggestions at the back of the script which would definitely cover a couple of art and dt lessons too. A fun assembly introducing the Royal Family beginning with Aethelstan the first King of England. It includes 29 speaking parts, 1 song and costume suggestions. This is a great way to introduce the Coronation of King Charles and a tribute to Queen Elizabeth, but can be used anytime to teach the timeline of the Royal House of Windsor. We used this script for the teaching staff and used one memeber of staff as the narrator. This script is aimed at key stage 2 onwards but as usual can be adapted for younger kids, particularly if the teacher narrates or narrators read from cards. Hope this saves you some time :)

A series of multiplication and division question divided into three levels of spice. The questions have a common castles theme and are written in the same style found in KS1 SATs papers. Appropriate to challenge y1, prepare y2 for SATs or to revise/assess early in y3.

A rhyming assembly script about a little boy who keeps making mistakes in poetry. The script takes the boy into poetry land and explains what some poetic terms mean and allows the children to perform some poetry/songs. Poems are included at the end of the script. An assembly explaining phonics in a fun way. The aim is to have one class educate other classes or even parents on the basics of phonics. It briefly explains: phonemes, digraphs, trigraphs, blending and has some practical rhymes, songs and games to help demonstrate these. It was written with year 2/3 in mind but can easily be adapted to work for any class above year 1. I would also suggest this a whole school assembly with staff acting it out for parents/children. I still meet parents who’s children have made it to year 6 and have not understood the basics of phonics or why it’s used within school. I highly recommend taking time to educate parents in phonics so they feel like they can help with homework etc. Hope this saves you time :)

A KS1 assembly retelling the story of ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance’ by Giles Andreae. One pupil acts as the narrator (thouh this can easily by edited to add more narrators), then there are 6 other speaking parts. Every other child will wear an animal mask and perform in a short dance. The assembly includes full script, ideas to encourage audience participation and links to 6 songs and actions. I also used these dances to inform my PE lessons, the children loved this. This is a FUN assembly for an active class and welcome break to memorizing lines. Enjoy :)

Hilarious version of Cinderella as a whole class play. It’s a bit long for a normal assembly but perfect for an end of year or special play. Enjoy!

The story is about Bas the Bat who has been hibernating for a long time. When he finally wakens up the world around him is different and scary. The story is made to help children adjust to returning to school/homeschool/lockdown after a long time or those struggling with the somewhat ‘scary’ Covid life. The resource includes a social learning story powerpoint made to read aloud to kids. Either print in a3 or display as the powerpoint attached. It also includes a printable version of the story and a set of 8 comprehension questions. The comprehension questions are in word format and can be edited to match ability or KS.

An assembly all the world’s best snack. This class assembly looks at the cocoa bean’s journey to chocolate. It introduces the idea of fair trade benefiting farmers and communities. It includes some acting and one song with a youtube link to lyrics and dance moves. Appropriate for a capable y2 class and up. Enjoy :)

Assembly script based on the ‘Twas the night before Christmas’ poem. The script comprises of 30 parts. It has 12 narrators and 18 acting parts involving a lot of mime or dance. The script is extremely adaptable and funny. The original poem was wordy so it’s been altered slightly and would be most suitable for year 3/P4 and anything right through secondary school. If you wanted to adapt it for a younger class I would recommend giving the narrators the words to read on cards rather than learning them off.

Assembly all about the romans, involves a lot of acting and has a line for each child. My year 3 class really enjoyed this and the whole school were interested in Romans the rest of the week. Approriate for y2-y6! Enjoy :)
