I gave this as part of a hand out on revision guidelines and resources for pupils revising for Listening and Reading GCSE in French after Easter. I have also found it useful for Year 10 preparing for exams.

Seven quotations from Sac de Billes. Pupils must decide who is speaking or who the quotation describes. Good starter activity once whole book has been read and pupils are familiar with all the characters. Answers on second page.

This Powerpoint is used in conjunction with AQA A2 book for Year 13 but could be adapted for an Environment lesson for year 12. You will also need to print the diamond ranking activity on environment on MFL Sunderlands website. It also includes reference to an advert made by ADEME to encourage the French public to reduce their rubbish. Funny and effective. You will need access to youtube to show the video clip. Type in ADEME reduire les dechets. There are several different ads - all useful and funny. Very visual. Video link is on the powerpoint anyway.

This resource fits in with Studio edexcel French GCSE module 4: where I live and the regions of France. Devised to practise listening skills and enhance geographical knowledge of France for year 10 pupils. The worksheet is a gapfill exercise with map and video link to a Big Flo and Oli song.

An A4 sheet of useful phrases on the topic of illness. Good support for pupils preparing written or spoken work. Used in conjunction with Expo 3 Rouge.

This is meant to be used as part of a French lesson using ICT. Save this word document on a drive where pupils can access it, make sure the document is locked (using the Forms toolbar) pupils should save a copy for themselves and then complete it using the drop down choices. They will also need access to the internet for the final task. For pupils of lower ability in year 8

Worksheet requiring access to a computer with internet for each pupil. Involves finding a website on French youth hostels and consulting page on a specific hostel on Le Cap Ferret near Arcachon. Questions to answer in French. Also another website to access about the area.

Internet links to video clips showing interview with the author concerning the recent adaptation of Sac de Billes into cartoon format. Show these clips to promote discussion on the book and the author.
