The text mixes fiction with prehistoric facts, and takes us back to a time of surprising innovation and artistic expression. The text can be used in both your history and art lessons. Included is 2 weeks worth of planning, plus an extra day if you wish to produce an edited piece of writing, plus resources for 2 lessons as mentioned in the planning. The plans are differentiated 3 ways and are very clear to follow. There are specific grammar teaching poits included on speech punctuation, 1st and 3rd person and adverbial phrases.

Guided reading based on - The Owl who was Afraid of The Dark - Jill Tomlinson 7 session outlines with objectives and 4 follow up activities. Aimed at Year 2 or 3, however I have successfully used with Year 6 EAL students.

A week’s English plan for KS1 based on The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister. A wonderful book about sharing. This could be used during anti-bullying week or during the term where the SEAL unit of work - Say No to Bullying, is looked at. The SEAL objectives have been referenced.
