A whole lesson done with a top set year 11 group. After consideration of the thieving/ borrowing elements of the magpie, pupils work in groups of four. They circulate the room visiting different poetry stations (tables with four copies of the poems on). They must complete the grid on the first slide of the PPT to show personal response, key 'magpied' words and or phrases and gloss any phrases they don't know with the help of a dictionary. Feedback prompt slides for each poem are included in the lesson.
