Need a good motivator for your students? Do you like cookies? Enter "smart cookies."
Using cookie pieces that spell out "smart cookies," my students earn one letter at a time for excellent behavior (i.e. complements in the hall, everyone turning in homework, whole class working together to clean up, etc) which eventually leads to a party!
This is a great way to encourage students to work together, and even lends itself to practicing simple math ("How many more cookies until we reach our goal?")
