This integrated unit of work is using a Ralph pirozzo model. This unit is designed with the aim of developing student’s awareness of the importance of writing for a purpose and with an explicit focus of different text types, which will tie in with Writer’s Notebook. The unit will be integrated into the curriculum showing links with Literacy, Numeracy, Arts, ICT, Health and Wellbeing, and Society and History.
The final assessment task will involve students making a whole class newspaper to be given to all classrooms at your Primary School to demonstrate what has been learned and achieved over the unit. Parents and community members will also be able to access the newspaper to view students work via a link on the Primary Website and through viewing the newspaper in the classroom.
