The terrible events in Westminster yesterday will be discussed today by students, teachers and parents in school communities across the country and beyond. At The Day, we think that as educators and teachers alike we have the responsibility to ensure that those student conversations are conducted in schools in as calm, thoughtful and rational way as is possible.

We need to help young people to make some sort of sense of this event and use it to help them further their understanding of the world and of the issues, challenges and struggles within it. This is true for all of the news stories that we cover at The Day but it is particularly important in the immediate hours and days after such an event.
