This is a fun and creative writing unit suitable for Year 5 and 6, which is inspired by the adventure novel, The Explorer. In this unit children become explorers and write for a number of different purposes. The unit ends in writing a survival guide to the jungle, in the style of Bear Grylls! This unit was perfect for our study of habitats and adaptation, but will also go well alongside the study of Brazil and South American countries. All plans and models writes are included-all that is needed is a sprinkling of imagination to bring them to life!
There was no preview of the resource so I took a risk. The content was not worth £4.00, or suitable for 2 weeks teaching of English to my year 5s.

Thank you for your feedback- I’m sorry this wasn’t what you were looking for. I spend a long time thinking about how to make writing interesting and planning creative lessons-my students and other teachers have always been very positive. I started selling my resources to help other teachers find something a little bit different to PowerPoints and worksheets and also to help charity. Any money I make on here, after fees are paid to TES, is donated to a charity. I do this because I enjoy sharing my ideas and want to help others in the process. Apologies again that this was not what you expected-I hope your teaching of The Explorer goes well.
