This is a 3-4 lesson sequence of A-Level Sociology lessons designed for students new to the subject, covering all the basics they would have learned at GCSE.

Lessons:

  1. What are families and households?
  2. What are the alternatives to living in a family?
  3. Is the nuclear family dead?
  4. Debate lesson based on structured independent study

These lessons are designed to fit the AQA specification and build exam skills for the A-Level AQA paper.

The lessons include challenge tasks and mini-quizzes throughout (inspired by the Rosenshine Principles pedagogy). In the “notes” section of each slide there are links to relevant information.

These lessons include homework suggestions and video links.

These lessons are designed to be taught using the red AQA A-Level Sociology Book One (Including AS Level) Napier Press Sociology textbook (By Webb Westergarrd Trobe and Townend).
