Pathetic and moving but poverty is bigger than starvation - and our economic system is making things worse. I am sure teachers using this resource will explore causes and in particular the Global Warming/climate change which is causing droughts and famines all over the place, but especially in poor rural areas which rely on subsistence farming. A drought or flood there means whole communities will starve. </p> It is not possible to have a world in which part is suffering from obesity while a majority live on the verge of starvation - without conflict. If our pupils wish to live in a secure and peaceful world, they need to be aware of this and work, as we all need to do - for more fairness and justice. I guess that is the message at the heart of these images.
