A Challenging Game of Cause and Effect Reading Comprehension.
Rigour can be fun! These challenging games are a great fun way to engage the students in really looking into the concept of cause and effect within the text. It requires them to identify the cause and the effect of up to four similar texts and to order them according to the sequence of events based upon the cause and the effect of all four. The cards are numbered to show sequencing but the text is not always obvious, with varying subjects, thus requiring the children to focus on the possible causes and effects of the previous cards. It can be used within small guided reading groups or as part of literacy centres. There are 3 different ways to play with these cards.
The cards are differentiated to effectively reach all reading levels within 3rd, 4th and 5th grades.
Instruction cards for both levels of games
3 different games in each packet.
Recording sheets
40 cards with higher level text
24 cards with lower level text
