The lesson investigates the fairness of the Olympic Medals table and encourages students to use maths to look at alternative ways to rank teams in the medal table. There are two sets of powerpoint slides that drive the lesson. There is a lesson plan. There are some data sheets. When I used the lesson I also showed the Scottish ladies winning the curling gold a few years back - the video can be dowloaded from the British Olympic Association site but I can't uplodad it here for copyright reasons. (Note you can also view it 'online' - here is the link: http://www.olympics.org.uk//video.aspx - it is the last video thumbnail along the bottom)

Very useful resource, thank you. I've adapted it and am using it for a google docs spreadsheet lesson (ILO use a spreadsheet to solve a problem) with a Year 5 class. The video can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoJzmmsOeW8

Olympic Video. I'm trying to find the video but to no avail, could you send the link or possibly some hints on how to find it?

Just what I wanted. Five to ten the night before the first day of term - great save! <br />This is what I've had in mind to plan for a while - looks like you did it for me
