Do you have students that have difficulty paying attention and finishing class work? This is a social story I use successfully in class as a precursor to lessons about distractions. It teaches students what a distractor is, but more importantly it helps with the loss of self esteem that occurs with constant negative feedback kids with ADHD traits get at school. The message being; everyone learns differently and this is OK.
You can purchase the self monitoring chart I sell to go along with this lesson to help teach students how to self monitor using looping audible timers.
I find this to be a great start to lessons about brain breaks. I hope you do too!
