Appropriate level of accuracy is achieved when the upper and the lower bounds of measures agree to a certain level of significant figures. A pendulum experiment is carried out through simulation. The aim is to workout the value of gravity on Earth. The required measures are the length of a pendulum and the time period of one swing. A repeated measures of the lengths and periods were carried out and the average value of these measures were utilised in the formula that relates the period, the length and the gravity.

Students may be given the opportunity to making the gravity, g, the subject of the formula - an algebra exercise.

The solutions of the problems are given, but the teacher may choose to simply provide the measures for the students to work out the g value and decide on the the appropriate level (degree) of accuracy.
