This is the 5th lesson in the AQA A GCSE thematic unit of work for ‘Religion, human rights and social justice’ and it is focused on giving money to the poor. This lesson has been particularly focused on the Christian attitudes towards the aforementioned issue but it could be easily altered to take a different religious belief into account.
The lesson has been fully resourced to a high standard with a range of differentiated tasks (using the good, better, ASPIRE system). The lesson is designed to challenge the students as well as make them familiar with new concepts, knowledge and how to apply their learning to the exam. There is a 12 mark exam question in this lesson so that the students are constantly being reminded of exam technique and what will be expected of them in terms of application of knowledge.
