8 page resource designed to provide structure to students revision when studying competition for their Paper 2 Biology GCSE exam.

The resource is designed to be printed as an 8 page booklet that could be completed in class/revision sessions or at home and contains the following:

Page 1: Information that students need to know about competition.
Page 2: Space to complete some structured revision in which students complete a “read, cover, write, check” task.
Page 3: Space to complete their own summary with some prompts for how this could be done/presented.
Page 4: Structured task around the topic.
Page 5: Grid of questions for students to complete using the information on page 1.
Page 6: Selection of past exam questions from AQA.
Page 7: Selection of past exam questions from AQA.
Page 8: Exam question answers.

B16 Lessons, SOW and Revision

A complete and thorough set of resources to teach, learn and revise B16 Adaptations, Competition, and Interdependence. It is designed specifically for the AQA Trilogy and Separate Science specifications. Included in this bundle are: Lesson PowerPoints These cover: 1. Communities. 2. Abiotic and Biotic 3. Plant Adaptations 4. Animal Adaptations 5. Extremophiles The lessons are designed with ease of use in mind. Each PowerPoint has clear outcomes, information and tasks clearly linked to these outcomes and lots of model answers and examples. The PowerPoint have lots of use of imagery and informative video clips embedded. Each lesson includes an opportunity for retrieval practice, through starter activities in particular and has a selection of exam questions for students to practice and apply their new knowledge. Work booklets An accompanying work booklet which provides students with everything that they need to access and cover the content in the unit. SOW Document A Homework Task A Summary PowerPoint This covers all of the core content of the unit and has lots of past exam questions and model answers included. There is also a booklet for students to complete to accompany this. A Focussed Revision Lesson This is a revision lesson looking at revising adaptations of plants and animals. This session is designed to take about an hour and has an A3 worksheet for students to complete. Within this session there is also some support and guidance in answering some common extended response questions linked to adaptations. Knowledge Organiser/Revision Mat There is a complete knowledge organiser great for making revision notes and a blank version for students to complete. Retrieval Practice There are a range of different activities included. There is a quiz booklet or some common questions and a quick quiz version. Each of these booklets have to answer questions, and a grid to keep track of marks. Other retrieval tasks include a Dice revision game and a revision clock. Additional Resources The communities lesson has been uploaded for free which can be viewed as a sample of what can be expected in each lesson.
