Art Textiles: Artist Maurizio Anzeri

This is a fantastic artist for a KS3 or GCSE lesson. Maurizio Anzeri stitches into old photographs. During the lesson, I printed a range of famous expressive portraits black and white onto card. Students then hand stitched with thick embroidery thread into the images. The colour of the thread contrasted against the black and white background.

They were then tasked with presenting this work into their sketchbooks accompanied by an artist research page. This worksheet helped them develop their use of analysis when analysing his work.

I will dig out my student examples and add them to this resource along with my presentation.
