“B” is the time where pupils would be expected to write a piece of transactional writing (examples being: writing to inform/explain/review/argue/persuade/advise). Here you will need to be able to meet Assessment objective AO1, AO4 & AO5.
“C” would be the part of the exam where a pupil would be given the opportunity to choose one out of three options of a style/genre of writing, and an imaginative piece of work would probably be included in this section . Examiners would look out for AO4 & AO5 in this portion of the paper.
