PPT starts with a quiz for the children to recognise some famous scientists, and then proceeds into the story of Edward Jenner's discovery of vaccination to protect from small pox - no horrible pictures of small pox, don't worry! However, a statue showing an 18th Century man's pockmarked face is used to illustrate the effects on survivors. I chose Jenner as all children will likely have some experience of vaccination, and to get children to think about how many millions of people vaccination has saved.
