Assembly: How did we get the first black President?
This assembly covers the story of Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King and considers how a chain of events led to the inauguration of the first black President of USA. Brief notes are included with the PowerPoint. A short clip of the famous 'I have a dream' speech forms part of the assembly and I have also included the audio of MLK's favourite hymn. To accompany the assembly, there is a display (two formats) which encourages the children to respond to what they have learnt.
