This is a unit that fits into the study of landforms. If you have geomorpholgy as part of your course then this unit will be a useful addition. This unit can stand alone or it could be used as an interest in tourism within the newly proclaimed Limmen National Park of the Northern Territory of Australia. Take your students off the main unsealed central road of the Limmen National Park and you will find the so-called “Lost Southern City”. It has formed over 150 million years through the processes and actions of weathering, transportation, erosion. The diagram sequence will explain the formation of the sandstone columns, pillars and intervening valleys. The photo interpretation worksheet (colour or black and white) is added to check the level of understanding of your students. If you are searching for a unit that is relatively short, contains interest and isa ready-to-handout package then this unit will ease your pressure of preparation time. Photographs, diagrams and maps are included.
