Be smart with your smartphone. Say goodbye to phone bill shocks and credit calamities.
Target audience: 8 - 11 year olds
Give your students a lesson they asked for: on money and internet safety. Together with Childnet we asked students across the UK what they need help with and internet safety came up. We then wrote this fun and practical lesson plan that will show young people how it’s possible to spend money through a smartphone, how this can happen and what to watch out for to not end up with unexpected charges.

From TV voting for their favourites and in-app purchases to mobile gaming and online ads, you will help your students learn how to think critically about money and internet safety.

You will get:
• a Teacher’s Pack that tells you all you need to know about the topic, step by step instructions for delivering the lesson and ideas for fun extra activities
• a Powerpoint presentation for you to use, with plenty of examples of good or services that might cost real money, charged to their phone bill
• a Students’ Pack with worksheets and information card, with a special extra: a Test an adult quiz and diploma.

We are the Phone-paid Services Authority, the UK regulator for content, goods and services that get charged to a phone bill. We asked Childnet to help us create this lesson because they’ve been working for years with schools across the UK. Their resources have been used by thousands of teachers here on TES so you’re guaranteed an excellent lesson plan.
