**Big Schools’ Birdwatch **
6th January to 21st February 2021
This assembly is suitable for students in Key Stages 1 and 2.
This month is when the annual Big Schools’ Birdwatch takes place.
The Big Schools’ Birdwatch began forty-two years ago in 1979. The results help conservation scientists understand how birds are doing every year and provide valuable information for their research. For example finding out which species are doing well and which species need our help.
Monitoring birds is an extremely important activity. Birds provide many contributions to the environment.
With colourful images and interesting bird facts, this age-appropriate, assembly, raises awareness of the Big Schools’ Birdwatch and looks at last year’s top 10 birds. It emphasises the relevance and importance of monitoring our feathered friends.
This presentation can be used as a stand-alone assembly or as an introduction to a Big Schools’ Birdwatch project.
Comprising of a 24-slide powerpoint presentation, full script, a music accompaniment and a prayer for birds, this pack will save you hours of preparation time, simply download and go!
