I made this for one specific essay (Evaluate the claim that the bodhisattva ideal is not helpful for Buddhists aiming for nirvana). It includes detailed accounts of Avolakiteshvara, Manjushri and Maitreya, as well as some possible evaluation, sources of wisdom and authority/scholarship.
It is designed to go 4 to a page on A3 (double sided).
I include the PDF version in case of formatting problems but obviously feel free to mess with any of it. Can you let me know if you identify any inaccuracies? Thanks.
I also include extracts from Bhikku Bodhi’s book called ‘Arahants, Bodhisattvas and Buddhas’. This is free online but I have taken some key teachings (in his own words) for my students to study in more detail.
