cartoons for writing sounds people and animals mak
After introductory work around cartoons and how sounds like 'oof' and 'woof' have standard spellings, ask children to draw speech bubbles and write a good noise for each character. Refer them to graphemes on display to promote thoughtful spelling by long vowel sound. To go with science 'sound' topic. Provides a way to check if EAL children know the sounds that animals make in English (use an adult led game first before this sheet).
