Practice mapping sounds in CVC words with these sound word box cards with non-fiction real life photos of simple CVC words as prompts.

Using sound boxes will help your students build their phonological awareness skills. They will help students identify the beginning, middle, and ending sounds making it easier for them to segment CVC words correctly.

Ask your students to tap a dot under each sound box as they say each sound when they say and stretch out the CVC word. Then using magnetic letters or letter tiles, have them build the word. Once they have built the CVC word encourage them to slide their finger across the card to read the word helping them to build their decoding skills.

Being able to easily segment CVC words and blend sounds is crucial for successful decoding!

With over 80 words included, all with real life photos, these CVC Word Sound Box Cards are perfect for whole group, small group and reading intervention!
