Charlie Hebdo - liberté d'expression - authentic materials - MFL - FRENCH

This can make up a series of lessons about the Charlie Hebdo attacks of 2015 in Paris. More suited to KS4 and possible a more mature Year 9 group given the nature of the topic and the vocab used. The first few slides are a selection of starters using authentic materials that get pupils responding to images in a similar vain to the GCSE photocard. The lessons get pupils looking at current affairs but also looks at grammar, genuine quotes, and an article amongst other activities such as opinion lines.

My classes really found this topic interesting but it also pushed them in terms of language, vocabulary and grammar.

WARNING: not all of this documentary is suitable for showing to students so make yourself aware of the sections that ought to be skipped before pressing play! Obviously as this is on Netflix it requires a subscription and for it not to be blocked on the school IT system.
