Double lesson exploring the Tree of Life Mosaic for Eduqas (Catholic) Origins and Meanings.

The lesson explores the use of symbols within Christian art, such as the dove, the lamb, the Chi-Rho, the Alpha and the Omega etc. This is then used to explore the Tree of Life Mosaic and Christian scripture. The second part of the lesson focuses on the skill of evaluating and asks students to consider the concept of Jesus as the second Adam. Students can discuss this in relation to the artwork. The lesson ends with a D question in which students can apply and consolidate their learning.
