Christmas RE lesson - Angel Gabriel Visits Mary - KS1
This resource is a plan for a lesson about the Annunciation, when Gabriel visits Mary to tell her she will give birth to the baby Jesus. It is suitable for using with Key Stage 1.
The 5 page pdf lesson plan includes a starter, two drama activities, a short written activity and a plenary whole class activity. There is a 22 slide animated PowerPoint presentation of the story of the Annunciation to use. This is not editable. (Click ‘Read Only’ to open.) Some of the images are only revealed when the PowerPoint is played as a slideshow with the animations. There is also a colour and black & white pdf version of the template for the written activity.
A fun, interactive lesson with a focus on trust, which could be used individually or at the start of a Christmas RE unit.
I used this lesson with my Year 1 class and they really enjoyed it!
