This is a compilation of IWB slides that I have used to introduce German to my Year 3 class. It includes straight forward things such as numbers, colours, months, greetings and simple questions and answers about themselves. They have responded well to it and I have also printed some of the slides off and displayed them around my classroom. Hope it's useful for anyone thinking of introducing German to their pupils :-)
Hi, I created this for my Year 3 class as part of our Science unit Rocks & Soil. To make the soil aspect a bit more interesting and purposeful, I linked it with our Viking theme. The children had to help Eric the Viking decide what land (soil) was best to settle on when he arrived in England. They had to plan for a fair test, complete the investigation and then evaluate their results to let Eric know what soil would be best for him to grow his crops on. They children really enjoyed it. I have included the powerpoint that I used for the lesson and the worksheet that pupils completed.
i have made some tricky / common exception word watches. There are some flash cards and also some sheets with our words to find.
One idea is to give children a selection of watch sand ask them t find a friend and mark it off one of the sheets(they are in groups of 5)
a watch a day. i was colour in a star each time they say the word correctly!
Over to you!
i have uploaded two sets- they are in different orders (i think!)
at least 20 watches, 20 flash cards and tick sheets with 5 per sheet
one set of flash cards comic sans- other set twinkle font, similar to sassoon
