Counting, Number and Shape: Activities & Resources Bundle

EYFS NUMBER ACTIVITIES & RESOURCES:

This pack contains practical ideas for teaching numbers. If you are new to teaching, struggling with creative block or just looking for new ideas then this is the pack for you! ALL OF THE RESOURCES ARE ALSO PROVIDED IN BLACK AND WHITE, TO SAVE ON PRINTING COSTS!

*You will find a selection of activities which you could use with the whole class or as a small group activity. These activities are open-ended or differentiated to ensure that every child is included.

*A set of number cards, number fans and number lines are also provided, for you to cut out and laminate.

*Additionally, there are ideas for challenges and ways to enhance the provision in your classroom or outdoor area, to ensure that there are many opportunities for number work! Children can have a go at these activities independently or on a 1:1 basis with an adult.

NUMBER CHALLENGE CARDS:
*46 roarsome number challenge cards for you to use in your areas of provision! A blank set of challenge cards is also provided, plus certificates to celebrate the children’s achievements!

*The challenges cover counting, number recognition, number ordering and writing, more/less, 1 more and 1 less, addition, subtraction, doubling, halving, counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.

*The challenges cover the UK Reception Early Learning Goals & US Kindergarten Common Core Standards.

*The challenge cards should be printed out and placed in a stand or photo frame.

*You may want to use 1 or 2 of the challenges per week, depending on the needs and abilities in your class.

*You should show and explain the challenge(s) to your class. Then place them in your maths area for the children to complete, next to the resources required to complete the challenge.

*In addition to the cards, you will need commonly found classroom resources, such as number cards, dice, number spinners, number lines, cubes, counters, blocks, pegs and pegboards, beads, pompoms, dominoes, timer, addition/ subtraction cards, etc.

COME AND COUNT:
This pack contains ideas and resources for a practical counting unit with pre-school or Reception children.

You will find:
