A crime short story unit that involves rewriting a fairy tale

  • Students are required to write a short story with a twist - the booklet takes time to develop the skill of writing a twist
  • Answers for table and activity 1-2 included

Also included is a jumbled short story - ‘The Nightmare in Yellow’ - I cut these out, laminated the paragraphs and students had to unjumble the story (can be recreated in a few ways that still make sense), read the story and answer the 3 questions - I created large A2 posters that students could blue tack the story onto and then write the answers on with whiteboard markers
Writing the fairy tale crime story is highly scaffolded
