This presentation explores the anatomy and physiology of the nervous system. Using numbers to guide both teacher and student throughout the presentation, these then correspond with an activity sheet also included in this resource.
The presentation covers:
* Functions of the nervous system (with reference to how we communicate)
*Divisions - central nervous system and peripheral nervous system
* Lobes test - in the activity presentation, you will find some ideas on how to deliver/demonstrate to students what each lobe does, in an activity based method
* The meninges
* Head injuries
* Neurone and neurotransmitters (very brief outline)
Pet cards and skin texture boards. Children to sort the cards onto the correct board, depending on which skin type they have. Can provoke discussion around why animals have certain skins (temperature regulation, protection, sensory needs). Could also introduce camouflage.
This colorful set of Science (Atoms) clipart papers include 8 high-resolution (300 dpi) PNG files. They are 12" x 12". These clip art backgrounds may be used for personal and small commercial use.
“ The cell theory poster postcards activity” is design to help you teach and reinforce the concept of the development of the Cell Theory. Your students will have the change to read the informative, list the scientist’s contributions in a graphic organizer, write-down the information in the postcards, cut out and glue the postcards in the cell theory timeline template and create a Timeline poster showing the chronological order of these scientists and their contributions to the cell theory.
Main contributors to the Cell theory: -Zacharias Jansen
-Anton van Leeuwenhoek
- Matthias Schleiden
