Dinosaur video review tectonics, ecosystems, asteroid, meteorite, VERY engaging!
I left this lesson for a substitute and my classes just loved it so much they asked to watch it again when I came back.

The video is The discovery channel 2015 documentary titled "Last Day Of The Dinosaurs" (you can find this to stream easy online, I provide a few links to help in your search, and buy it Amazon links)

56 minute video it is a little bloody and graphic due to some dinosaurs doing what carnivores do.

This video takes you through the Asteroid that became the meteorite that helped make the dinosaurs go extinct and the rise of the mammals.

Topics include

Asteroid, meteor, meteorite
Seismic waves and earthquakes
Ecosystem imbalance
Predators, prey, producers, fungi
Nuclear winter
Animal adaptations
How a meteorite can cause massive scale destruction even on the other side of the earth.

Great review video for the end of the year, the substitute said that the students where so caught up watching the video that they didn't complete the video follow along sheet.

student sheet is 2 pages, I include a teacher sheet to help buy or find the video as well.
Save for later
