Having moved from a school that teaches the Linear A-Level, to that of a school that teaches AS in Year 12 and A2 in Year 13, I have designed and updated my previous lessons substantially with the following objectives in mind:

1.To compartmentalize and differentiate between the 9 theorists needed in Year 12 and the whole 19 at A2 (Year 13).
2.Provide my students and you with a variety of options e.g. the option to purchase my resources as AS or A2 having uploaded all of my Linear lessons previously.
3.Sizeable tweaks have been added base don having taught the new EDUQAS spec now for the past two years at A Level.
4.Where as before my lessons were numbered numerically from the first unit through to the last, this series of resources is designed to as self contained units making it easier to swap out and reintroduce content to assess retained learning.

LESSON 6, AUDIENCE IN ‘WATERAID’. This SINGLE lesson covers/includes:

-The 100 Most trusted charities in the UK and WaterAid’s standing within that/ Brand identity.

-Charity Starts in the Classroom (Each sheet has the theory explained on the back should students need help. Encourage students to stretch themselves however. Print one copy of sheets 1-8 (Double-sided print) and a copy per student of sheet 5 (ONE BOX PER THEORY WITH HEADING).

It is time to see what you have under the surface.We will conclude our study of ‘WaterAid’ with a carousel task to solidify your knowledge of audience theories.

I will now split you into groups of 4. You will each start with one Audience theory. I will play the Claudia advert on each round so that you have a reference point.

However, as soon as the advert ends, you must move onto the next theory. I will give you 30 seconds at the start of each theory to discuss and reaffirm what each theory means.

All responses should be written onto the designated sheet. At the end, we will go through each one and you can write it onto the master copy in front of you. Remember, you’re not just solidifying your own knowledge but donating it to your peers also.

NOTE: All task sheets, differentiated resources and audio/visual stimuli are included within the lesson.
