A PowerPoint that takes students through examples of main and subordinate clauses.

PowerPoint gives examples of both types of clauses in Christmas themed sentences.

Students will be asked to identify main and subordinate clauses in the beginning, middle and end of the sentences.

They will then be required to work with a partner or a group to finish sentences with main or subordinate clauses.

3 worksheets included based on the PowerPoint
1. Students read the sentences and identify where the main clauses are
2. Students will write their own main and subordinate clauses
3. Students will identify if the underlined words are main or subordinate clauses.
