Presentation designed for use as a starter/plenary activity in KS3/4 English. There is potential for use as an activity during a cover period, black and white printable copies of the slides are available as possible homework, research or cover tasks.
There are 4 sets of 5 questions. Each set of questions is progressively more difficult that the preceding set. In each question the students are given cryptic clues towards a word that contains the word POLY, either at the start, middle or end of a word. Students are challenged, individually or in groups, to find that word by analysis and discussion. Use of a dictionary is at the teachers discretion. There are 15 slides in the whole presentation
