First, this bundle contains fourth grade CLOZE (fill in the blank) worksheets to teach, re-teach, practice, or assess vocabulary in the fourth grade enVision Math chapters 1 - 20, all chapters for the entire year. Also included is the corresponding answer key for each worksheet. When we developed these worksheets we used the key vocabulary words. Since all topics do not have an equal number of vocabulary terms we included review terms from previous topics when necessary. Each worksheet contains 10 vocabulary terms. Each worksheet will challenge the students and their understanding of each word’s definition.
Second, this bundle contains fun fourth grade crossword puzzles to teach, re-teach, practice, or assess vocabulary in the fourth grade enVision Math. These puzzles cover the full year chapters 1 -20. The puzzles have been divided by topic so that each puzzle will follow a particular unit or units of study. Some topics have been combined so that puzzles are not too small and have similar numbers of words. For example there is a puzzle for Topic 1, a puzzle for Topics 2 & 3, a puzzle for Topics 4 - 8, etc. Each puzzle has an answer key provided. In addition there is a word bank for each puzzle provided in case you want to copy it to the back of the puzzle to assist students. There are eight crossword puzzles for your students, along with the associated answer keys and a wordlist for each puzzle. I have used these puzzles to challenge students, to enrich and engage learning, and as a center or centers with teacher or parent helpers to teach and provide practice for reading vocabulary and definitions.
These important vocabulary development skills are a critical piece of education to support and align with the Common Core Standards for Language Arts under Language: Conventions, effective use and vocabulary, understanding words and their relationships, and acquisitions of new vocabulary.
