For centuries people have tried to interpret the meaning of dreams and it’s a topic that intrigues us all. This fun listening lesson is based on a TED Ed. video that explores the history and theories surround dreams. The main focus of the lesson is listening practice for English exams. The lesson also includes a vocabulary exercise to help students understand how word types transform. There is also a speaking task that gives students and opportunity to attempt to analyse dreams and put all the new vocabulary they have studied in the lesson to good use. This engaging lesson encourages students to usE analytical language to talk about abstract topics. Suitable for advanced ESL learners and EAP students, this resource encourages students to expand their use of vocabulary to discuss the topic of dreams, eliciting a greater breadth of language to describe thoughts and feelings.
