Lesson focusing on: Differing practices associated with Holy Communion, and differing understandings of Holy Communion and its importance in the Catholic and Baptist Churches. Different Christian understandings of the significance of Jesus’ actions at the Last Supper, Luke 22:17-20.
Starts with key concept check, then students are introduced to Holy Communion - what it is and different understandings of it, watching a video/documentary extract (links on the PowerPoint), completing 2 ‘match’ activities and referring to their textbooks. Students are then to explore ‘why these symbols?’ by reading a chapter extract and completing activities on this (please note that the chapter extract was written by me/is my own work). Exam question also included.

Students will need textbooks and Bibles.
