A story linking Science, 'Forces and Literacy. Forcythe is a clown who wants to be a star in the circus. As he considers the different acts he could try the story lends itself to discussion about various forces such as gravity, air resistance and friction. At the end of the story Forcythe realises that making children happy is the way he shines light in people’s lives.

There is a free air resistance worksheet that links well with Forcythe’s baggy pants slowing his fall! Also the activity on ‘Centre of Gravity, Balancing Rocket’, links well with Forcythe on the high wire.

Literacy features include rhyme and figures of speech.
What other language features are there? Can you spot the mice in each picture? What is the moral of the story?
