Fragonwood Outdoor Maths Activities

Primary school KS2 maths activities inspired by Forest Schools.

Designed to encourage independent learning and practice of key maths concepts including shape and measurement.

Also encourages outdoor observational skills that can be harnessed for maths and art. Extension work could easily be added to provide literacy opportunities describing the sights, sounds and smells.

It is useful to creating routines for outdoor activities. This materials provide activities for ‘Sit Spots’ as well as ‘walking around’ activities both of which could be practiced in the school grounds before use in other outdoor spaces such as parks, woods or wildlife reserves.
